Amor Vincit Omnia

Memento Mori translated literally means 'Remember To Die'. Over time it has become a reminder of mortality. Our own life and those who have left before us. Amor Vincit Omnia reminds us that 'Love Conquers All' and that we hold those dearest to us in our hearts and minds forever.

The White candle represents the highest level of consciousness. Burning a white candle in conjointment with a meditative state is to seek protection, healing, and purification. White represents truth, unity, harmony, and wholeness of spirit.

The Memento Mori contains a special combination of oils to trigger the memories of love and those we have lost. Each of these oils carries significance in honoring and celebrating a loved one (while putting attention to the feelings of those of us “left behind”).

Rose is well known to be one of the florals with the highest vibration. Roses are also heart-opening and help you connect with the energy of love and the angelic realm. There is a reason lavender essential oil is the most popular essential oil on the market. Lavender has so many beneficial properties; some of its spiritual uses are oftentimes overlooked, but there are tons of them! Lavender will help you to relax and let go of stress (essential for angelic communication). It also helps to open clairvoyant sight (so you can see your angels), and it will also help you to focus, and quiet your busy mind (also key for connecting with angels). Sandalwood is a funeral herb believed to carry the soul into the next life and carry messages between the realms. Myrtle carries uplifting energy which vibrates in harmony with love, and therefore with the angels. It will help you to love yourself, and tune into love in the present moment. It also promotes healing forgiveness, acceptance, and harmony. Lilac is a flower of protection and grows each summer in the backyards where I grew up. It reminds me of family. Violets bring rest to a grieving heart and call the mind.  Carnation is used to hold death at bay but was also my grandmother Theresa's favorite flower and this candle is developed in her memory with love and devotion.

Memento Mori is finished with Rose quartz because it is an incredibly compassionate stone. It is associated with unconditional love. As it is aligned with the heart chakra it helps to rebalance shock and trauma in the heart region, including the feelings of grief and loss associated with death. Moonstone is particularly powerful and can bring emotions back into the body gently. it is linked to the moon so it can help to understand the cycles of change and the cycle of grief. As it is a stabilizing stone it can help to bring feelings of calm and is a powerful healer on an emotional level, so it is particularly effective to use during the grieving process. Amethyst is a powerful healer, and when used in conjunction with rose quartz it helps is through the process of healing during times of loss. It is also a very calming and soothing stone, so it is ideal for when we need to ground stray emotions after a cathartic release.

Rose helps to calm the mind and heart, imparting a soothing balm to whatever situation we find ourselves in. Lavender is conducive to long life and for a greater acceptance and understanding of old age. It is said that if one gazes upon the plant, all sorrow departs and a joyous calmness settles getting rid of the depression and hurt. Rosemary is an herb that has long been associated with remembrance and death. Since ancient Roman times when the herb was used in burial rites for this reason, to several accounts of funerals in England where mourners traditionally tossed bouquets of rosemary on top of coffins. Myrtle reminds us that love never ends. If you wish you can write the name of a lost loved one on the Myrtle leaf and burn it with intention when you light your candle.
